Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (“GA4”), a web analytics service, to understand how visitors use this site — which pages are viewed, and which Instagram reel referred a visitor here (via a ref parameter carried in the link).

GA4 sets cookies on your device (typically named _ga and _ga_*) to distinguish you from other visitors across sessions. These cookies are stored for up to 2 years by default.

The data collected includes: pages viewed, an approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, referrer, and the custom event data described above (document slug and reel reference). We have enabled IP anonymization, so your full IP address is not stored by Google. We do not send your name, email address, or any other directly identifying information to Google Analytics.

This data is processed by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) and may be transferred to and processed by Google LLC in the United States and other countries where Google operates. Google certifies its participation in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and additionally relies on Standard Contractual Clauses as a safeguard for these transfers.

The legal basis for this processing is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, §25 TTDSG). This is enforced in how the site is built, not just stated here: Google Analytics does not load and no cookies are set until you click “Accept” on the cookie banner shown on your first visit. Declining is stored and GA stays off on every later visit until you say otherwise. You can change your decision at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

You can also opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites by installing Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies from googletagmanager.com and google-analytics.com in your browser settings.
